Hi, I'm Hope and I'm running to represent you in the Utah House of Representatives.

I have lived in what is now District 39 for over 20 years. Born and raised a Utahn, my roots run deep with love for my community- and I believe that if you love something, you work to make it better. That's why I'm running for office. I love our community, I love the people within, and I know that with a lot of hard work and a little bit of hope, we will continue to better our district- because our community is the best place to live, raise a family, work, recreate, and thrive in the world.

I've been a lot of places, but our community is something special (you know that and I know that!). I grew up on a horticultural farm on the border of West Jordan and South Jordan in a lower-middle class family. It was there that I learned the value of hard work and persistence: between pulling weeds out of the garden in the summer heat for hours, to raising my five younger siblings while my parents worked and thereafter when my father unexpectedly passed away, to putting myself through college by working three jobs. I also learned the value of asking for help, giving back to others, and accountability.

I attended Itineris Early College High School in our district while concurrently attending Salt Lake Community College. I graduated with my Associate of Science degree before graduating high school. Afterwards, I attended the University of Utah and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, with a minor in Economics, a minor in Strategic Communication, an emphasis in Law and Politics, and a certificate in International Relations.

My professional experience can be summed up as such: by the people and for the people. I've spent years listening to constituents and relaying those concerns to the people in power about how we can do better. Sometimes, the people in power don't want to listen and don't want to put aside self-interest. This is another reason why I am running- I know that this experience is not unique to me.

In 2017, I relocated to Washington, D.C. to work for the Third Congressional District of Utah on various legislative affairs and national policy. In 2018, I moved to London to work for a Member of Parliament in the British Parliament, wherein I studied potential effects of Brexit while successfully developing and passing a constitutional amendment to increase government accountability. Thereafter, I moved back to our district and worked for the City of South Jordan in community development, collaborating with appointed officials and departments to maintain and stimulate sensible economic growth within the city.

In my most recent employment, I was the Executive Director of a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan nonprofit organization with a mission to increase voter registration and turnout in the state of Utah. I had the incredible opportunity to speak to voters every day about why they need to and should vote and how much it matters, and I'm honored to have the opportunity again as I listen to you and discuss the issues that matter to you and your loved ones.

I hope to earn your vote.
